A New Historical Fiction Award - In Honor of M.M. Bennetts

M.m. Bennetts was an important piece of the historical fiction community on-line, both in the English Historical Fiction Authors group and the Historical Novel Society. When she passed away in August, it left an obvious hole--we missed the jokes about cakey, the scathing indictments of Napoleon, the warmhearted wit, and the passion for history.

In honor of M.m. Bennetts, several of her friends and admirers have established a new award, an award for a historical novel published in 2014 which focuses on literary quality and historical accuracy. The winning novel will be announced at the luncheon of the Historical Novel Society Conference on June 27, 2015.
